5 Engagement Party Ideas We Love

engagement party ideas

When you get engaged, you suddenly have a huge list of things you must do (hello, wedding planning!) We’re here to make your life easier. To cover all the bases, we’ve taken 5 categories and chosen our favorite engagement party ideas from each.

1. Upscale

If you live in a city, a rooftop engagement party is a must. Make sure you choose a building with a sweeping view of the skyline. When choosing invitations, choose high-quality paper content. We love these “Sip Sip Hooray” invites from Minted. Specify the dress code for your guests and splurge on a gorgeous dress – after all, you only get engaged once!

2. Seasonal

You can argue with us all you want, but fall is the best season. There, we said it. Changing leaves, pumpkin carving, pumpkin spice, Halloween, Thanksgiving, sweater weather… need we say more? The best part has got to be vineyard season. In the Northern Hemisphere, harvest season is typically August – October. That gives you a perfect excuse to host a vineyard engagement party. You can choose if you’d like to rent a party bus and vineyard hopping or just stay stationed at the best one. The views will be breath-taking and guests are sure to love the theme.

3. Laid-back

Show friends and family that you’ve finally found your main squeeze with a sweet, backyard party. Serve up fresh-squeezed lemonade and plan to grill out. Play a game of “Who said it?” with these adorable lemon-themed printouts. Perhaps the best part of a laid-back theme is being able to dress comfortably! Let your shirt speak for you – we love our “Off the market” and “Yup, finally proposed” tees.

4. Brunch

Engagement party brunches are convenient for you and for your guests. Get in, get to partying, and done by 2 pm – who doesn’t love that? Our favorite brunch theme is “Donut Mind if I Do.” Cater the party with your favorite local donut shop and go wild with flavors and presentation. As always, Pinterest has a ton of thoughtful ideas for donut-themed decorations and donut bar setups. We love these “Love is Sweet” balloons from Etsy.

5. Tech Savvy

If you met your future husband or wife online, you’re not alone. In fact, according to The Knot, 22% of people who meet on dating apps end up getting married. So why not celebrate it? Use the theme “We swiped right!” With this theme, you can send digital invitations. Use this cake topper from Etsy and give out these on-brand coozies as party favors. Plan to play some tech-themed games, like this “What’s on your phone?” game.

There you have it! Our favorite engagement party themes for each category. Which one would you consider?
